Teachnology in the classroom

As a teacher I feel that our growing technology is essential for each of us to know. I would like each of you to gain a better understanding of technology by using it each day. If you have any questions about information you are unsure of I would like you to look it up online. While learning certain units I would like each of you to find a website or interesting fact about the unit. Use the internet as a useful tool and have fun doing so. Through out the year I would like each of you to find a “pen pal”, this can be anyone you know or would like to get to know. At the end of the day I would like you to email, IM or type a letter to them of what you learned that day and what your favorite part was.

Why I decided to be a teacher...

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I remember when I was young I would play school with the neighborhood kids. During the summer we would have class every Monday at 10 a.m. Thought out my later years I found new interests, but the love of learning and teaching never left. I love to teach and watch children learn and grow. My favorite part is when you see a child with the look of excitement when they understand the concepts. I like to call these the “Aw-ha” moments when they become engaged in learning. I love to explore, and with exploration comes new knowledge. We learn from each other and have fun while learning. This is why I wanted to be a teacher. I want my students find this same excitement that I have for learning. I want them to continue to seek knowledge and find new ways to look at the world. This can only be done when they have a love for learning…I hope I can instill that into each of them.

Welcome to class

This is my first year teaching, I graduated from Utah Valley University, in Orem last spring. I have lived in this area form over two years now and love the community that surrounds it. I am very excited to explore my teaching experience with you and your parent s this year. I will do my best to meet your individual needs, but to have a fun filled year while do so! I’m very excited to teach each of you and I’ll see you in a few day!
